Domino's has introduced a new option that allows customers to take delivery of an order nearly anywhere. It's called Domino's Pinpoint Delivery and as the name suggests, the option eliminates the need for a fixed address when placing an order. Using the Domino's app, you can simply drop a pin on a map and have your delivery driver bring your order at that exact location.
It may sound gimmicky, but the option could prove incredibly convenient. Imagine you are at the park, the beach, or the baseball fields when hunger strikes. Rather than having to pause the fun prematurely or pay exorbitant concession stand prices, you could have Domino's delivered on the spot.
You will need the Domino's app to place a Pinpoint Delivery order, and you will have to pre-pay using a credit, debit, or gift card (cash is not accepted). Users will receive text notifications providing status updates on their order. Once an order has been placed, the pickup location cannot be adjusted. When the driver arrives, you'll have four minutes to retrieve your order.
Most stores are already offering the new feature, and it is available for anyone with the mobile app to use. The company told Engadget that deliveries are possible anywhere a restaurant serves, so long as the driver can safely pull over. Don't expect your driver to hike a mountain to bring you a pizza, but they could meet you at the base of your hike or any other reasonable location.
